11/27/2020 9:00 am - 8:00 pm Merry Middlefield The Middlefield Chamber of Commerce Merry Middlefield event will return on Friday, Nov. 27 for the fourth year with member businesses collecting new, not gift wrapped, toys to be donated to several local charities for distribution. Look for the green Grinch poster in the Toy Donation Location windows. Starting at 9 a.m. on that Friday, our Merry Middlefield Grinch and his dog, Max, will come into town to try to ruin our Merry Middlefield season by stealing toys from the collecting businesses. At 6:30 p.m. Watch the Dramatic performance by the Grinch and message Grinch, Max and Cindy Lou Who on Middlefield Chamber of Commerce Facebook. No personal appearances are allowed this year at the Pocket Park in Middlefield Village. Fireworks sponsored by the Village of Middlefield at 7:30 pm launched from Jordak Elementary School property. Please watch the fireworks from the inside of your vehicle. Stay Safe, Merry Christmas! Santa’s Hide-A-Way Hollow in Middlefield is the primary recipient of the donated toys. For the health and safety of the seriously and terminally ill children receiving the gifts, these rules apply: Gift cards from your favorite store are ideal and preferred (Meijer, Penneys, Target, Walmart, etc.). Any toys must be new, never used and never opened. Fabric toys and stuffed animals must be in original four sided, fully enclosed boxes. Non-fabric toys in original package with an open front, i.e. footballs, soccer balls, and baseballs, are acceptable. If you are unable to attend on Nov. 27, watch for the event on Middlefield Chamber Facebook and to stay informed about other Merry Middlefield events.
